Our Story

From One Van to Denver's Most Trusted Electrical Team

Marcus Reid started Voltage Electric Co. out of a single van in 2008 after 12 years as a journeyman and master electrician for a large commercial contractor. He was tired of watching homeowners get overcharged for simple work and underserved on complex jobs.

His founding principle: treat every customer's home like your own mom's. Pull the permit. Do the job right. Show up when you say you will. Charge a fair price.

That philosophy attracted Denver homeowners by word of mouth. Today Voltage Electric has four licensed electricians, a fleet of five service vehicles, and over 1,400 completed projects — still family-owned, still personally overseen by Marcus.

Every job gets done to code or better. We never cut corners on safety, even when the customer doesn't know the difference. The NEC minimum is our floor, not our ceiling.

Sustainability Minded

We spec energy-efficient solutions whenever possible — LED lighting, smart controls, EV-ready infrastructure. We also recycle 100% of copper, aluminum, and old fixtures from every job site.

Our Journey

2008

Founded in a Garage

Marcus Reid launched Voltage Electric with one van, one apprentice, and a handshake philosophy. First year: 47 residential jobs, zero callbacks.

2012

First Commercial Contract

Landed our first commercial tenant buildout — a 4,000 sq ft restaurant in LoDo. Added second licensed journeyman and first service truck dedicated to commercial work.

2016

Top Rated on Google & Angi

Hit 100 Google reviews with a 4.9-star average. Awarded Angi Super Service Award three years running. Opened our first dedicated office on Zuni Street.

2020

EVITP EV Certification

Became one of Denver's first EVITP-certified electrical contractors as EV adoption surged. Completed 200+ EV charger installs in our first 18 months offering the service.

2023

Full Team of Four Electricians

Added Sofia Chen as our smart home specialist and Kyle Patterson as our registered apprentice. Now running five service vehicles across the Front Range.
